Whimzu is a Cross-IP, Free-to-Play, and Play-to-Earn game for the NFT universe that empowers players with the ability to collect NFTs known as Whimzu and use them to quest, battle, level, and/or sell on the open market for real money. While some NFTs will be available for purchase outside of the game, the majority will be discoverable in-game, feature varying degrees of rarity, and be completely free to obtain.
Whimzu are adorable and typically huggable animals with personality (for reasons you’ll come to understand, we don’t recommend hugging ALL of them) that live on the blockchain. Whimzu are exceptionally diverse. In fact, our lead whimzoologist claims there will be close to 200 unique species of Whimzu available for discovery upon final launch of the full game.
Our whimzoologist also informs us that each and every Whimzu will be a 1 for 1 unique NFT, meaning there are no duplicates as further proof that no one animal is ever created the same.
A Cross IP game involves assets from different creators/worlds not associated with Whimzu to be utilized in the same game in order to build a richer and more comprehensive experience (think Super Smash Bros, Marvel vs Capcom, or Kingdom Hearts to name a few).
A crucial part of Whimzu’s mission is to bring additional utility and value to existing NFT collections. We can think of no better way to accomplish this than to partner with dozens, and eventually hundreds of other NFT collections and enabling players who own NFTs from those partner collections to use them as playable Whimzu avatars with additional perks.
