Who Can Participate

We believe no barrier to entry is key to maximizing the size of our community and helping us accomplish our Mission of making NFT’s more easily understandable, accessible, and economical for all who want to partake. As such, Whimzu will be Free to Play and anyone can participate regardless of whether or not they own an NFT from a Whimzu related collection.

As such, all players (even ones who already own Whimzu related NFT’s) will receive a starting Whimzu at the beginning of their journey. The spirit of being Free to Play will continue throughout the game as players will be able to discover and bond with hundreds more Whimzu through playing the game. Each Whizmu a player completes a Choosing with will be an NFT stored to their wallet and will be theirs to decide what to do with (Train, Collect, Trade, Stake, or Release). We consider a players ability to increase their NFT collection without paying a dime to be a critical feature to the success of the game. Through this mechanism, players with no experience in the realm of NFTs will increase their knowledge base of NFTs, begin to understand how rarity effects value, and gain awareness of the many other projects that we partner with. Since this acts as a safe gateway for people to get a taste of the NFT/crypto world, one might imagine Obi-Wan Kenobi (Old Ben) telling players after their first couple hours in game, “That’s good! You’ve taken your first step into a larger world.”

We believe this strategy will drive significant positive financial results for players, partnership collections, and the Whimzu collections as seen below:

  1. Players Earn - Players will be able to earn real money from selling Whimzu NFTs they acquired for zero dollars. As floor prices for in-game collections increase, players will earn more and they’ll be able to easily do so via an in-game marketplace.

  2. Partnership Collections Increase in Floor Price - With significant increased exposure to all projects, all of our partnership collections will see increases in their floor price as players seek to expand their collection. We even envision a certain subset of players who will take great pride in having a complete collection and will be willing to go to great lengths to do so (like completing your Pokédex in Pokémon).

  3. Foundation and Mythical Collections increase in Floor Price - As these two collections represent the original 52 Whimzu that come with some added perks and strengths, these collections will enjoy an increase in value the bigger the game gets.
