Leveling and the “Potential Multiplier”
Leveling
Players will be able to level up their animals by earning experience in several ways:
Win battles against other adventurers (PvP)
Win battles against NPC adventurers (PvE)
Completing quests and/or raids
Spend in game currency for items that level up the Whimzu (like a rare candy in Pokemon)
The Potential Multiplier
Players will want to take special note of the “Potential Multiplier” for each Whimzu as it can dramatically impact the growth trajectories.
Each Whimzu will have a stat called “potential multiplier” which will show collectors and adventurers alike the potential final power of each Whimzu at maximum level. To ensure this doesn’t become a Pay to Win game, it’s essential that the core function of the game incentivizes playing the game to get the optimal results. As such, leveling up through PvP, PvE, and general questing/raiding will help your Whimzu be the strongest possible. Paying to increase the level of a Whimzu will increasingly lower its end potential.
Finally, it’s noteworthy to point out that the Potential Multiplier will reward balanced play the most, meaning people who spend time leveling up via PvP, PvE, and quests/raids will enjoy the highest potential multiplier. This doesn’t mean players will have to spend countless hours doing each of those categories, but it does mean you’ll want to pay occasional homage to each of them. Don’t worry, there will still be plenty of time to focus on your favorite game mode.
